“Raising children…is vastly more than fixing what is wrong with them. It is about identifying and nurturing their strongest qualities, what they own and are best at, and helping them find niches in which they can best live out these strengths.” – (Seligman & Csikszentmihalyi, 2000, p. 6)
IPPA’s Positive Psychology Leader Series will welcome Dr. Lea Waters on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, from 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM EDT
In this live webinar, Dr. Waters will share her early intervention approach of “strengths-based parenting” to help young people thrive. Dr. Waters will demonstrate how we can not only help our children build resilience, optimism, and achievement but we can also help inoculate them against today’s pandemic of depression and anxiety. Students, practitioners and parents will learn the theoretical basis, research, and extraordinary results of focusing on children’s strengths rather than always trying to correct their weaknesses.
