Resilience – What is it, and can we strengthen it?
with Jenny Liu, Ph.D.

November 4th, 5:00pm – 6:00pm EST*

Abstract: In the midst of a global pandemic, civil unrest, and growing racial tensions, staying resilient is more important than ever before. Yet, what is resilience? How can resilience help us during these unprecedented challenges? And can we learn to harness or build our resilience? This presentation will overview concepts and definitions of resilience, discuss their implications for operationalizations of resilience in research, and overview the effectiveness of resilience interventions across a number of subjective, objective, physiological, and behavioural outcomes. Insights from advancements in resilience modelling and findings from a recent meta-analysis of resilience interventions will be shared.
