On January 30, 2019, IPPA’s Positive Psychology Leader Series will host Dr. Gary Latham, world-renowned expert evidence-based management and a pioneer in goal-setting theory (Locke & Latham, 1990). Dr. Latham will discuss useful goal setting and motivation strategies, as well as recent research findings on the effects of priming on unconscious goals. He will also share applications of his research in business and education. This presentation will help individuals and leaders to reach their goals and become more evidence-based managers.

Dr. Latham is the Secretary of State Professor of Organizational Effectiveness at Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. He is a former President of the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA), the Society for Industrial-Organizational Psychology (SIOP), and President of Work and Organizational Psychology, a division of the International Association of Applied Psychology. He is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association, Association for Psychological Science, Academy of Management, CPA, National Academy of Human Resources, SIOP, and the Royal Society of Canada. He is the only recipient of both awards: Distinguished Contributions to Science and to Practice from SIOP.
