Biography:

I earned my Ph.D. Organizational Leadership Curriculum and Instruction, University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education. During my graduate studies, I became interested in the potential impact of Positive Psychology in organizations and began to follow the work of Professor Martin Seligman. I joined IPPA 10 years ago after completing my doctoral program. I have incorporated principles and practices of Positive Psychology throughout my career as a special education teacher and administrator, addiction counselor, program development consultant/specialist and adjunct professor in the Autism Graduate Program at Rowan University. I have been particularly gratified to see organizations, individuals and families thrive and flourish by learning and applying principles of positive psychology under my leadership. My work has been rooted in principles and practices of Positive Psychology and I am currently consulting with individuals and organizations while conducting research for a book about Incorporating Principles and Practices of Positive Psychology in School Communities.

Statement of Interest:

I joined IPPA over10 years ago after completing my Ph.D. In Organizational Leadership Curriculum and Instruction at The University of Pennsylvania. During my graduate studies, I became interested in the potential impact of Positive Psychology in organizations and began to follow the work of Professor Martin Seligman. Over the years, I have incorporated positive psychology principles and practices in my leadership role in programs, counseling and my work with individuals and families affected by Autism. I have been particularly gratified in my work to see organizations, individuals and families thrive and flourish by learning and applying principles of positive psychology under my guidance and leadership. It is time to give back. In the last few years, I have reduced my workload in order to write and conduct research. This has afforded me the time to and to serve on several volunteer boards. I am very interested in contributing my time and energy to IPPA and am confident that with my background interest, I will provide effective leadership to the division. I believe IPPA leadership should reflect the principles of Positive Psychology as related to organizations. Put simply, I will practice what we preach.
