Dear Colleagues,

It is my pleasure to serve as your President from October 2017- September 2019. As a member of IPPA for several years, I have admired the great work our association is doing to bring quality and connection to our positive psychology community.  It has been my pleasure to serve with Alireza Memarian, our new Past President. I have been personally grateful for his energy, support and dedication.

Nine months ago our dedicated new leadership team presented a new mission & vision. We created a strategy for the WCPP2017 mentoring event, revised our publications and communication, mentoring strategy, student speaker series and recruitment.

To capitalise on our success so far, we will continue to focus on delivering our valuable member-only activities to you, our valued colleagues. We will also begin to work more closely with universities globally, to be more closely aligned and involved with our student community.  I am personally grateful to the University of East London, UPenn, Anglia Ruskin University, Life University, University of Melbourne, Universitat Jaume I and Claremont Graduate University for their cooperation and support.

IPPA’s Student Division can help you support students at your university. If you would like to get involved please do email me if only to ask how you could do this –

I would also like to encourage those of you interested in volunteering to apply for a position as a regional representative. Please visit the SIPPA Regional Representative page for more information and application instructions.

We are planning to have more than 10 regional representatives all over the world by the end of 2017. However, we aim to grow, so please do apply if this is for you.

As you know SIPPA’s Mentoring program and Student Speaker Series are two fantastic programs which our team is looking to work on with you. You can find more detail for each program from IPPA’s website

If you have any questions or ideas that you would like to share with SIPPA, please do not hesitate to email me at

We would love to hear from you!

Thank you for your continued support and membership.

Happy reading,

Keith Cowley
