I am glad to share in the launch of this issue of IPPA Student Division’s newsletter!
Our SIPPA leadership team is busy organizing a variety of programs for you, our valued student members. It was our pleasure to meet many of you at the Fifth World Congress on Positive Psychology in Montreal, which was a huge success for IPPA as well as SIPPA. It was a great opportunity to present SIPPA’s Annual Business Meeting where we could talk to many students and also SIPPA’s Professional Mentoring Event where many had a great time. Our attending students sat down with some of the world’s positive psychology leaders, as described below. I give special thanks to our mentors who delivered high quality presentations at the event: Kim Cameron, Stewart I. Donaldson, Marianne Fallon, Tayyab Rashid, Robert Vallerand, Keith Cowley and Ary Maharaj.
I would like to encourage those of you interested in volunteering to apply for a position as a regional representative. Please visit the SIPPA Regional Representative page for more information and application instructions.
We are planning to have more than 10 regional representatives all over the world by the end of 2017. However, we aim to grow, so please do apply if this is for you.
We at SIPPA would love to hear from you and support your positive psychology programs and activities in universities all over the world.
A couple of months ago we took two big steps to introduce and register positive psychology organizations in Iran. In March 2017, we launched the Scientific Association of Positive Psychology registered at Arak University in Iran and also three months ago for the first time the “Department of Positive Psychology” opened at The Counselling & Psychological Centers. These are great steps to increase awareness and the practice of positive psychotherapy in Iran’s psychological centers. I give special thanks and congratulation to Kindness Umbrella (Chatre Mehrabani), Counselling & Psychological Center in Isfahan, Iran.
As you know SIPPA’s Mentoring program and Student Speaker Series are two fantastic programs which our team is looking to work on with you. You can find more detail for each program from IPPA’s website http://www.ippanetwork.org/ippa-students/.
If you have any questions or ideas that you would like to share with SIPPA, please do not hesitate to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We would love to hear from you!
Thank you for your continued support and membership.
