Due to a scheduling conflict at Grand Park, the “Evening Under the Stars” event scheduled for Saturday, June 29, has been moved to the Los Angeles Music Center.

On behalf of the Executive Committee of the International Positive Psychology Association (IPPA), I would like to acknowledge the recent tragedy that has taken place in Boston. The atrocities that have happened should never take place and we denounce them in the strongest terms.

A number of people - particularly presenters who recently learned that their abstract submissions have been accepted - have requested more time to line up support funding and/or to take advantage of the best travel arrangements for the conference. To make it as easy as possible for as many people as possible to attend, we are extending the early registration deadline to April 30th.

After reviewing hundreds of outstanding proposals, we are pleased to announce that abstract notifications have been sent for the Third World Congress. We received 25% more proposals this year than we did in 2011, and our review committee added additional sessions to the program in order to accept as many of those strong proposals as we could. The deadline for students presenting at the Third World Congress to apply for scholarships has been extended until April 15th.

Due to overwhelming interest and the number of high-quality submissions, the review of abstract proposals has taken longer than originally planned. Applications for scholarships to the Third World Congress on Positive Psychology are now being accepted. Scholarship winners will receive a complimentary student registration for the Congress, and international students may be eligible for travel support. Applicants must be enrolled full-time in an accredited degree program and must have been accepted to present a poster or presentation at the Third World Congress.
