Dear Colleagues,

In our August newsletter, we have several announcements and opportunities to volunteer with SIPPA.  First, thank you to all applicants for the SIPPA executive council.  We look forward to finalizing the positions and introducing the newest members of the SIPPA executive council in the near future.  Second, for those of you who are interested in volunteering with SIPPA, you may apply to become a regional representative.  Please visit the SIPPA Regional Representative page for more information and application instructions.

Third, SIPPA is constantly seeking applications for the Student Speaker Series.  We welcome applications from prospective students to present their research during the Student Speaker Series.  The Student Speaker Series occurs on a quarterly basis. Student speakers will work with SIPPA Leadership to select a date and time for their presentation.  Past presentations include Sebastian Boo (Excellence in Teaching), Susan Mangan (Positive Interventions), and Sue Ferguson (Positive Psychology and Ageing). If interested, send your application to SIPPAnetwork@gmail.com.  Applications should include a CV, a brief letter of interest, and references for the science you will cover in your presentation.  Visit the Student Speaker Series page for more information and to view previously recorded presentations.

Lastly, the Fifth World Congress on Positive Psychology is just around the corner!  The World Congress will take place in Montreal, Canada from July 13-16, 2017.  The call for proposals is currently on-going.  Proposals may be submitted by researchers, practitioners and students.  They must be received by 11:59 PM EST on Friday, September 30th.  Please visit the Fifth World Congress page for more information.

If you have any questions or ideas that you would like to share with SIPPA, please do not hesitate to email Casey at SIPPAnetwork@gmail.com.  We would love to hear from you!
